The WHY of weight loss. Natural Bio Health clinics are unique in that we specialize in determining the reasons why a client may struggle with body weight and body fat. Once this determination is made, we try to address not only the immediate weight loss, but the underlying causes of the excess weight.
For example, hormonal deficiencies or imbalances can be a reason why clients may struggle with excess body fat even though they are eating a healthy diet and exercise regularly. Prescription drugs like anti-depressants may also contribute to weight gain. Stress and poor sleep could also play a role.
The Diet Protocol. The protocol consists of a restricted calorie diet, 500 – 600 calories per day (this may vary somewhat), along with regular treatments of natural supplements, either injected (most common and preferred) or orally (drops under the tongue). They are in a state of ketosis state made popular with the Atkins diet.
Who can benefit from the Diet? We use the diet to help those who have struggled with their weight for years; for those who excess body fat has become a more recent problem; diabetic patients who want are not having success controlling their weight and want to get off of their medications. It can help those with high blood pressure and those with high cholesterol. It is a great way to begin a LIFESTYLE CHANGE. Read our client’s Diet reviews to hear exactly what they think!

The use of medication in weight loss programs was developed over 50 years ago by a British physician named Dr. A.T.W. Simeons. Dr. Simeon’s protocol was brought to the attention of the public by Kevin Trudeau in his 2007 book “The Weight Loss Cure ‘They’ Don’t Want You to Know About.” It has been successfully used in Europe for more than 50 years, by both men and women.
Our prescription items can help to preserve your lean muscle and basal metabolic rate in a low calorie diet program. Dr. Simeon has stated that it can reset your hypothalamus.
Our clients on the customized diet in Austin, San Antonio, Round Rock and College Station can lose up to one pound of body weight per day while on the calorie restricted diet.* The total loss can vary. See testimonials and see weight loss projections below based on actual experience and based on the clinical study conducted by Natural Bio Health published in the Bariatric Journal.
Customized Diet: Little or NO muscle loss. The diet side effects often includes little to no muscle loss. There is also a possibility of no loose skin that can occur when dieters lose muscle. Successful dieters who maintain the lifestyle and healthy eating they learned with diet recipes are also successful in keeping their excess body fat to a minimum. If hormonal issues were a problem and if they have been resolved by the physicians at Natural Bio Health, then a healthy life as well as a healthy weight is a common result.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
How much weight will I lose with the customized diet?
If you are on the customized diet you could lose ½ to ¾ lbs per day. Many lose up to 1 lb. per day and a few lose more. Females could lose 20 to 30 lbs. during the 40 day program. Men could lose 30 to 40 lbs. during the 40 day program. Strict compliance with the program is required to achieve these results.
Factors that may increase weight loss include adding/increasing vegetable intake and mixing salad with each meal. Fiber intake is extremely important, as is water intake. A key to success is the expertise of the clinic staff in individualizing the program for each person.
What preparations are required for diet shots?
Before commencing the diet your physician or practitioner will request blood tests and perform a general health assessment. Your CMP (complete metabolic panel), CBC (complete blood count), and Thyroid profile (free T3, free T4 and TSH) are measured. Other blood tests may be ordered to determine if medical conditions such as PCOS exist.
Blood pressure is measured. An extensive In-Body Body Composition Analysis is also performed (at least twice), to document the amount of excess body fat, water intake, BMI, Percent of Body Fat, and amount of lean muscle.
Do I have to buy diet foods?
While on the diet you will eat fresh food that you can buy from the grocery store. We provide a detailed list of the foods for diet recipes that you can eat (with calorie counts) while on the 40 day protocol. Most of our clients do purchase the protein drinks we offer, to assist them during the protocol.
Is it healthy to lose weight rapidly? Will my skin become wrinkled, loose?
Most of the weight loss with the restricted diet with medication comes directly from fat and does not strip the body of much needed muscle, vitamins, or minerals essential to maintain good health. At the same time, excessive amounts of fat-stored nutrients are released into the blood stream to be absorbed by the body. For this reason, those on the diet might report they feel good on the program, and do not have hunger pangs or cravings. They can also experience a significant improvement in their cholesterol profile, their sleep quality, and insulin. Our program measures lipid profiles (cholesterol) when you start the program and when you finish.
Why the 500 calorie diet – VLCD (very low calorie diet)?
The medication can cause your body to mobilize the fat out of the fat storage locations, so that it’s available for use. While you are only consuming 500 calories, your hypothalamus is signaling for the release of the fat stored in your body. Because of this, your body is actually using thousands of calories a day from your fat.
The medication allows your body to tap into your body’s abnormal fat deposits (shoulders, upper arms, hips, thighs, and buttocks). In overweight and obese clients, these deposits are not usually accessible to the body for fat consumption.
Caution: Because you are on a low calorie diet, it is essential you be under the care of a physician. A low calorie diet has its own health risks.
Why can’t I just eat 500 calories a day and lose weight? Why add medication?
Dr. Simeons, the physician who developed the Weight Loss Cure Protocol, stated: ”When an obese patient tries to reduce by starving himself, he will first lose his normal fat reserves. When these are exhausted he begins to burn up structural fat, and only as a last resort will the body yield its abnormal reserves, though by that time the patient usually feels so weak and hungry that the diet is abandoned.
It is for this reason that overweight and obese patients complain that when they diet, they lose the “wrong fat.” They usually feel like they are in fact starving, and they feel tired. Their face becomes drawn and haggard and their skin wrinkled and loose. Fat areas, including the belly, hips, thighs and upper arms, show little improvement. The fat they want to lose stays and the fat they need to cover their bones gets less and less. The dieter can look older and unhealthy. As noted by Dr. Simeons: “The medication allows your body to tap into your body’s abnormal fat deposits.” It also preserves both muscle and the basal metabolic rate.
Will I be hungry on 500 calories a day?
When on the diet in Austin, College Station or San Antonio, you are likely to experience the following most common diet side effect: mild hunger during the first few days. This should pass within a few days. By the second week, you should find even very tiny servings to be satisfying. This is partly due to your hypothalamus adjusting your metabolic rate, but largely due to the amount of calories circulating in your system from the fat being released. It is common that dieters feel as though they are stuffing themselves in order to reach that 500 calorie limit!
Notice: If hunger continues, Natural Bio Health can offer natural appetite suppressants and/or prescriptions appetite suppressants to help alleviate any issues.
Who is a candidate for the customized diet?
The majority of men and women can use injections for weight loss. However, note that any prescriptions should be supervised and monitored by a physician or other qualified medical person in a clinic setting. Health issues can occur if a person is using medication with a very low calorie restricted diet.
Calorie restricted diets can result in ketosis. Generally, this is not a problem, as ketosis means that our bodies are using fat for energy. However, in certain circumstances, this can lead to ketoacidosis.
Note that the Physician will NOT permit weight loss medication for women who are pregnant or nursing. Lab tests are essential, and weekly check-ups are recommended for both weight loss and health reasons. Hormonal issues and health conditions must be considered to ensure success
A physician should always determine if you are a candidate for a calorie restricted diet with medication or if you have special health risks that must be monitored.
What about the Diet Side Effects?
Side effects are rare when a calorie restricted diet with medication is used in a physician supervised and monitored weight loss program. Special risks that can be addressed by a physician include diabetes, clients on blood pressure medicines, or certain clients with PCOS or gallbladder disease.
Will I gain the weight back after the diet?
After the calorie restricted (low calorie) diet is completed, you should find that your appetite has changed, your eating behavior has changed, and your body has changed. This is the perfect opportunity to adopt that healthy lifestyle to maintain your weight. Furthermore, at Natural Bio Health we continue your program after the diet recipes with our “Metabolic Reset Diet” that helps to set your appetite hormone (Leptin). We also offer hormone therapy, where appropriate, to address the underlying cause of many weight loss issues, such as:
With your hypothalamus reset, your metabolism may be different and you might be able to eat moderately without feeling the need to overeat. However, it is always recommended that you maintain a regular exercise program for 30 to 45 minutes per day, with two days of resistance training each week (20 to 30 minutes). This routine and a healthy diet will help ensure your health and weight.
What is the hypothalamus?
The hypothalamus moderates the thyroid, adrenals, fat storage, and more importantly, your metabolic rate. It also is the location of the appetite hormone leptin.
